Summer Catalogue 2010

The summer London season is always vibrant and lively, and even though we no longer have the Grosvenor House Fair, there is still plenty to see, and we look forward to the arrival of new international art and antique fairs.

We are pleased to offer a varied group of Chinese antiques in our own summer exhibition. The pursuit of the unusual and thought-provoking is always our endeavour. We are pleased to offer for sale rare archaic and later bronzes, some superb white jades, and a particularly fine group of lacquer wares, many made in the imperial workshops. Some of the ceramics have emerged from old Western collections, a few having remained hidden for over half a century.

We are fortunate to offer for sale ceramics and works of art from distinguished collections including, among others, those of A. W. Bahr; The Reverend J. F. Bloxam; E. T. Chow; H. R. H. The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester; Dr Robert Heilbroner; J. M. Hu; Enid and Brodie Lodge; Paul Manheim; and Dr Arthur M. Sackler.

We hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you to our exhibition and that those of you unable to visit London will enjoy the catalogue.

I would like to thank the following for their help and enthusiasm in the production of this catalogue: Ken Adlard for the photography; Paul Bevan for translations; Amanda Brookes for the design; Paul Forty for the proofreading; Adrian Franks of Creative Wisdom for the virtual catalogue; Richard Owers of Beacon Press, a carbon neutral printer, for the printing; Jördis Ann Schönherr and Katharine Butler for co-ordinating the project; and Miranda Clarke for the catalogue preparation. Christina Prescott-Walker has very kindly assisted us with some research.
